You should write your coursework using appropriate verb tenses, being careful when dealing with acronyms and making sure you link your points together. Further, you should not address the reader directly or use questions. Another thing to avoid is the use of redundant phrases.

Linking Words and Contractions – The language you use in writing our coursework must be formal. Avoid using linking words at the start of sentences. Also, you should not use contractions and negative statements. These are what the Glasgow Caledonian University says at their website at http://www.gcu.ac.uk/student/coursework/writing/index.html

Verb Tenses – Coursework writing tasks like reports, essays and other academic writing tasks normally use the present tense in the introduction and the past tense in the discussion of findings. Use what verb tense is appropriate. An example of an introduction can be “This work studies…” and an example of findings can be ”The results demonstrated that…”

Acronyms and Linking Points – Acronyms are very important and critical in your writing. You should be careful with them. Most of the time, you will need to use them. When you do, you should write the words out in full before you use the acronym. A more important aspect is your points; you should see to it that you link them together. A very good example for this is when using a lead sentence. For example, it is incorrect to state that “The novel (1) entertained and (2) can educate.” To state this correctly, we can write “The novel (1) entertained and (2) educated.”

Addressing the Reader – As a form of formal writing, addressing the reader directly is not allowed. In connection with this, asking questions is also prohibited. Thus, for example, you are not permitted to say, “Do you think that the principle is outdated?” Redundant phrases is another thing to be careful with not to use. There are many adjectives and nouns which when combined makes a two-word redundant phrase.

Whether students like it or not, he will be assigned to undertake a coursework sometime in their college life. Not all students, however, could write exceptional coursework. Some of them do not have the talents, skills, or abilities to be able to complete their coursework. Others do not have the time to undertake their coursework. While there are students who have the talents, skills and abilities to undertake a coursework, they sometimes fail to take note of some fatal mistakes that could cost them their grades or worse, their degree. It is a great coursework help if students take note of the mistakes to be discussed below.

One of the fatal mistakes in undertaking coursework is the failure to follow certain instructions from the assigning professor. A coursework is a detailed project, which duration varies from a day to years. Thus, professors give instructions to guide their student how to proceed with the coursework. Students would find the instructions as essential coursework help during the undertaking of the projects. The instructions are meant to guide and make sure that the students are taking the right course in their projects. If they are not followed, there is a chance that the student will meet a big problem along the way, resulting to botched coursework.

Another fatal mistake that students should avoid is plagiarism. Although most content of the coursework is sourced from other published materials, students should not attempt to pass others’ work as their own. Students should properly acknowledge and cite information sources. As much as possible, students should write their reviews, results and conclusion in their own original words. The final coursework should be the students’ own work. Committing plagiarism could make a student ineligible for graduation.

One of the worst things that could happen in coursework writing is that the reader fails to understand the paper because of poor grammar and spelling mistakes. The coursework would be a failure if its writer is unable to properly communicate the arguments to the readers. It is advisable that students seek coursework help if they have a problem in this area.

There may be many kinds of essays depending on the method used to present and analyze the information gathered from research, but the basic instructions on how to write essay are generally the same. Whether you are writing essays to present your personal opinion, convince your readers to adapt a particular point of view, or explain the necessary steps for achieving something, when you ask for tips on how to write essay you will be given the same basic structure. Below are simple tips that will provide help with essay writing:

Work on your topic. There are two scenarios in essay writing which involves the topic: you may be pre-assigned to cover a given topic or choose your own based on certain standards and criteria. If you have already been assigned a topic, determine what the instructor expects you to do. Are you required to write a general overview or a specific analysis pertaining to an aspect of the topic? If you feel that the topic is too general, choose a subtopic which will narrow down the scope of your discussion. If you are given leeway to choose your own topic, so much the better! This will make the work easier. Just be sure to choose one that you have a clear interest in and which will let you show your knowledge of the topic.

Think about your purpose. Is your goal to convince people to adapt a certain point of view or to do something? Are you instructing your readers how to do something? Are you looking to provide information about a specific person, place, process, thing, historical event or idea to your readers? The actual topic that you will choose must fit the purpose of your essay.

Brainstorm for subjects of interest. The third tip in how to write essay involving the topic is to list down the subjects that you find interesting. Whatever the purpose of your essay is, there are a lot of potential topics that you can choose from. If you have difficulty with this, think about the topic in general and write down the first things that come to your mind. Don’t analyze the topics yet at this stage, just write down whatever comes to your mind. You will have plenty of time later to analyze the topics that you have shortlisted.

Your essay, after all, is a communication tool—in writing—you can use when you wish to deliver a certain message to your readers. How effective your message has been received by your readers will depend on:

how much information you have given them, and

how well this information has been presented

There are several tips you can exercise if you wish to present your essay effectively. The first thing to remember is to maintain the standard structure of the essay. The essay has an introduction, a body and a conclusion, and this structure has been proven to provide a smoother reading flow for the readers. Your essay must include citations and references to demonstrate that your written work is well-researched and plagiarism-free.

In the overall presentation of your essay, the proper selection of words, transitions and sentence construction is as vital as the content of your essay. In behavioral science, the emotional impact that your essay will garner will depend on the words used. There are words that evoke stronger emotional responses as compared to their synonyms. It is then imperative that you already have a clear goal before you start with any essay writing task. Do you wish to simply inform? Or do you want to persuade other readers with your own stand? If you know which direction to take, you can then start selecting words that are appropriate, euphonious and powerful. Also choose words that have more specific meanings to ensure that you have clearly conveyed the message you wish to delegate.

It is also more effective if you present some of your content in visual form. Graphs, charts, bars and diagrams, among others, help substantiate your explanation. Also, there are readers that are more convinced if they actually see in figures what you have elaborated in words.

Utilising a precise writing technique and format will do wonders for your essay. Use definitions, parallels, analogies or examples if you wish to further expound a topic. Points that support your reason for arguing over a certain issue must be organised strategically.

You must also remember that in writing essays, it is your strongest point which holds the strongest impact. In presenting your points, then, you must start with writing the weakest ideas first before revealing your most convincing point. In this manner, your strongest point will gain more impact for there are correlating points that further support it. The other supporting points also help build up the momentum of the essay, leaving your readers convinced and interested.

You must also remember to go back to your intended readers when you feel uncertain about some of your choices. Although your essay serves as an extension of your thoughts and reasoning, you must also remember that you write to make people understand you and your thought processes.

Writing a dissertation can take a lot out of a student. It takes a lot of time and effort to put one together.

There are a number of academics who even choose to forego their degree, despite having put in several years of study, simply because they found the dissertation too difficult to complete.

To help you survive the process of writing a dissertation, take the following things into consideration:

Your dissertation is not set in stone. There is a possibility that you may need to make modifications while in the process of completing the project.

Talk to your adviser and the members of your committee. They are there to provide guidance, so do not dismiss their suggestions.

Writing a dissertation takes a long time – somewhere from six months to more than a year. Do not expect to finish your complete dissertation a few months after having the proposal approved.

A dissertation is not something that can be hurried. Use your time wisely and avoid working at the last minute.

These are just some of the things you need to keep in mind when finishing a dissertation. The task may be difficult, but if done right, it can also be one of the most rewarding experiences you can have as an academic.

Completing a dissertation project is probably one of, if not, the most challenging and demanding coursework assignment any academic will have to fulfil. The dissertation is a critical component of a Degree program and any student who wants to earn a degree and make a mark in his academic field will have to accomplish the research and written formal document that comprises the dissertation project.

This is a daunting task, as many students will attest to, but there are several things you can do to make dissertation writing easier to tackle:

Choose a topic which is related or within your chosen field of study or field of interest.

Think of several dissertation topics and decide on a temporary dissertation title. The topic and title of the dissertation may still change, depending on how your initial research goes and on the feedback of your committee.

Come up with a strong methodology for your dissertation. The methodology plays a crucial role in the completion of your project.

Remember to take note of all sources used in writing your dissertation proposal and the final dissertation itself.

Probably the most overlooked thing you will have to remember in writing your dissertation is this: pace yourself. Dissertation writing cannot and should not be left to the last minute. Start working on your dissertation immediately after your proposal is approved so the ideas that formed your proposal are still fresh and you will not be stuck working on your dissertation at the eleventh hour.

When we are tasked to write an essay for our coursework, we have to remember that we are also taking the role of writers, and as writers, the essay is our tool in conveying our messages across to our readers.

The first thing we must take into consideration in essay writing is to identify the aspects and features that make an essay an essay. In most cases, it takes on the writer’s point of view and it is not complete without the writer’s opinion, interpretation or evaluation regarding a topic or an issue. It can be informative, persuasive or argumentative, depending on what we, writers, wish to accomplish in our writing. Since the essay must be comprehensive to the readers, we have to be careful in committing grammar pitfalls and spelling errors. Compared to other short literary pieces, the essay is also more formal in nature and follows a format for different types.

It is the academic essay that most students find the hardest to complete. It follows a standard format provided either by Harvard or Oxford and it needs more statistical data and research as compared to a literary essay. In an academic essay, we prove our statement or claim by providing a series of facts and figures strategically presented to convince or argue. More importantly, academic essays must only discuss substantial topics that need more in-depth analysis.

We will know when our essay is successful when it has successfully conveyed its message to its readers and it has also captured the attention of its readers throughout their reading experience. There is a huge amount of resources available in the Internet that can further help us in writing our essays. We can also search for other Web sites that offer essay writing services so we can use their essays as sound references.

The title of this post would suggest that you, as the author of the essay, select a topic that you find interesting. Granted, doing so may help in topic selection and in writing the essay itself, however, that is not what this post is about.

This is about the meat of the essay. As students, you are sure to be writing an essay as fulfilment of certain academic requirements. Most coursework tasks such as these are delivered or assigned with a predefined topic, a statement or a question that you need to address.

Approaching an essay writing task without having a specific question to be answered can make the writing process harder. You need to have a certain focus to your essay, and that is where the central question comes in. The question allows you to hone in on what your professor requires you to include in the essay. It limits the scope of what could possibly be a very broad subject area.

Having to focus on a central question or statement will also make researching for the essay easier. Some of the advantages to having this type of focus in writing an essay include:

You will have a fair idea as to what subject you need to focus on

You become more selective when going through possible information you may include in your essay

You can filter your resources, and limit your search to ones that are relevant to the thesis of the essay

When writing, keep the central question in mind. Make sure that all your arguments and statements are pointed towards that specific question. This helps in maintaining the flow of the essay, and more importantly, in keeping the direction of the piece.

When writing your essay, make sure to go over the statement or question provided by your professor and keep it in mind at all times while tackling the assignment. This will serve as an important reference when it comes to researching and writing your essay.

For most students, coursework can either be a blessing or a nightmare. It is a blessing for students who perceive coursework essays as a venue to develop their research and writing skills. It is a nightmare, however, for others who view anything related to coursework as an additional load to their expanding list of academic tasks.

What makes coursework seem formidable to many is the fact that it hugely contributes to their grades and the reality that they have to complete it—or the consequences will be critical to their overall academic performance.

If you are one of those who are struggling with their coursework, here is one reminder you can comfort yourself with once you are faced with the dilemma: coursework is not done overnight. The objective of your coursework is for your professor to be able to track your progress by the amount and quality of work you have rendered. That involves writing essays and reviews, among others, so the best approach is to take all aspects of your coursework seriously and to do each of them one step at a time.

You can start writing notes as soon as your class commences so when the time comes that you are tasked with a topic by your lecturer, you already have initial references you can utilise and information you only have to expound or refute. You can also list possible topics your lecturer might assign you with and search for additional facts about these topics. The information you gathered might be able to help you expound a point you have included in the actual task you were assigned with. Another advantage that you have is the World Wide Web. It has a huge source of coursework info you can use for tips and other references.
